house beautiful
I recently discovered the website A Bloomsbury Life and have been pinching myself ever since. This is the stuff of my dreams.
Look at the gorgeous photos of her home here.
These rooms are my ideal. Colorful, ecelctic, welcoming and full of books. I love homes where books play an important decorative role not because some designer thought they looked cool but because the homeowners love their books and, you know, read them.
Lisa Borgnes Giramonti, the author of A Bloomsbury Life, also shared the link to this unreal English home. Look at some of these rooms in Dennis Severs’ London home. The house is delightfully fabulous and spooky; some rooms aren’t finished and pair rich red velvet with cobwebs. The juxtaposition of rich colours and fabric with threadbare rugs and unfinished walls is strangely alluring. All photos are from the AMAZING website Light Locations. The colours are right from a Dutch Masters painting: (all photos courtesy of Light Locations.)
I love this: Grey Gardens meets English manor meets a box of Crayolas.
She is also needlepoint artist. My favourite is this one. Check out her other work here, here, here, and here.

Great needlepoint. : )
I love your new site! I probably won’t be commenting a lot, because I don’t know much about fashion or decorating and have nothing useful to say about either. But I’ll definitely be reading–you have a wonderful voice and I love reading your posts.
You don’t have to know about either to have something interesting to say! It’s all a matter of taste – and gut reactions. I love hearing what people think – even if you think I’m absolutely insane for, say, suggesting you draw frames on your walls with magic marker
xoxo
